Why ⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ?
ⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ is the Coptic verb ‘to hear.’
This verb, transcribed in earlier Egyptian sḏm –𓄔𓅓 ‘listen’; hear,’ is a modal verb by which students study all verbal conjugations in the modern study fields of the Ancient Egyptian language- Coptology and Egyptology.
In the Gospel of Matthew, 15,6 (Ⳙⲁⲧⲑⲉⲟⲛ, ⲓ︦ⲉ︦, ⲓ︦),
Jesus calls the crowd to him and says:
‘ⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲕⲁϯ’
‘listen and understand’
